Working a literature festival, you end up joining in on some odd activities. This character was designed from children’s workshop for designing villains. This was the character that I created and will (hopefully one day) get round to drawing and pitching as a children’s picture book.
Have you heard of the Bogglesnot?
And the way he plots and grots and blots.
He’s made from boogies like the ones from your nose,
That you hide under chairs or between your toes.
He leaves tiny splodges of green and brown
And atop his head sits a slime-soaked crown.
He leaves tiny splodges of brown and green
So you’ll always know just where he’s been.
He walks with a squalch, and a squilch, and a squelch,
As he laughs and giggles with cough and a belch.
He’s hunting for bogies up high and down low
To stick to his body to get stronger and grow.
And grows and growls and growls and grows,
And slips and slides and stops and slows.
He’s forgotten what he’s looking for
So hides himself under a door.
But who’s this? It’s the tissue kid!
But they don’t know where the Bogglesnot’s hid.
He’s waiting and plotting for fingers to explore
And to add more bogies to his greeny core.
He’s a sly one is the Bogglesnot
And he always wants more than what he’s got.
He wants to grow up big and strong
And boggies are what he likes to feed on.
Tissue kid’s finger is close to their nose
The Bogglesnot watches as the finger gets close.
Skinny legs crawl out from under
Seeking Tissue Kid’s greeny plunder.
But Tissue Kid sees the Bogglesnot
And the way he plots and grots and blots
And the tiny splodges of green and brown
And on his head they see that crown.
The walk with a squalsh and a squilch and a squelch,
The laughs and the giggles, the cough and the belch
He’s getting ready for more more more
Greeny goo to stick to his greeny core.
But Tissue Kid pulls out a tissue quick
And the Bogglesnot jumps from a little flick
They blew their nose into the tissue wide
As the Bogglesnot turned and tried to hide.
But Tissue kid scooped him up and into the bin,
Because the Bogglesnot can never win!
Help Tissue kid, they’re counting on you,
And you can be a Tissue Kid too!
