The cards are the main form of randomisation in the game of Corners, you will use the suit and the number of each card to determine traits about the room and the inhabitant.
Each table has A-K with aspects you may want to apply. Each aspect is quite broad, so it is down to the suspect to narrow down what the keyword means. For instance, if the rooms has a musical object inside, is it a instrument (and if so, what type) or is the musical object a collection of records.
When setting up as a suspect, throw in a line or two of detail with object you choose.
Suits
Suits will determine the style of the object, and give it theme to work with.
- Hearts – Personal/Love
- Diamonds – Money/Status
- Clubs – Violent/Strategic
- Spades – Inane/Ultra-specific
For instance, if using a diamond for a musical instrument, it could be one of the rarest violins ever made, or was the last violin played by a player before their final and tragic show. You could however use a spade, and it could be a tuning fork to an instrument that only three people in the world know how to play. Each of these will give hints about the person that was murdered, and also give suspects a way to interact with their surroundings and the crime they are being accused of.
You will assign a card to each table:
- Room
- Object
- Suspect Trait
- Relation to deceased
- Motive for murder
- Alibi
You don’t have to assign them in that order, and jokers are wild.
